We will have two speakers, one from Edinburgh and one from Glasgow Mask Bloc, who will talk about mask blocs and their different activities. Presentations will be followed by Q&A and discussion.

What are mask blocs?

Around the world, at least 234 Mask Blocs have been set up by local people trying to address some of the comprehensive public health failures to protect people from Covid and other airborne infections. Scotland has four such mask blocs: Aberdeen, Edinburgh, Glasgow and Highlands/Inverness.

Mask blocs provide free FFP2/3 masks to event organisers and other groups. Some also help to run “libraries” of HEPA air filters, which can be borrowed for events. Mask blocs also run social activities.
